Lotus Sculptures

Katherine Maunder, the founder of Threadtales Company, reached out to propose a special collaboration. Katherine, a fashion designer based in Britain, transitioned away from fast fashion and discovered lotus fibre, a unique and spiritual fabric crafted by the people of Inle Lake in Myanmar.

 

Commissioning Kinga, Katherine sought the creation of a Lotus flower sculpture using her distinctive lotus fabric. The project posed significant challenges due to the distinct qualities of lotus fibre compared to silk dupioni. The collaboration yielded three impressive Lotus sculptures, which were showcased in London at the SoShiro Gallery.
